Flagajokull ~ Wedge Glacier Traditional Geocache
LionTamer: The glacier and it's run-off have isolated this cache (so I am told)...so it is gone. When I go back to Iceland with my family, I will place new cache's there and introduce my wife and daughter to the joys of geocaching. Thanks for making the attempt everybody who tried. ~Leo

From the main road that runs along the SouthEast coast of Iceland,
you take a side road off to the left (heading East), and drive to a
parking area 1/4 mile from the Glacier
Rectangular tupperware container. Update (October 25, 2005) Its
been a few years since I hid this cache. I was there on a shoot for
Showtime, I'm a Gaffer [lighting] in the film industry and we were
there shooting on the glacier for Showtime's own branding, i.e. the
stuff you see between the movie's advertising Showtime. Anyway, the
cache was/is under a cairn that was at the parking area. Glacier's
being what they are, it sounds as if the cairn is either gone, or
unreachable. I'd love to have a jPeg of the area if anyone goes
there looking for it. It is worth going to. iceland itself is
staggeringly beautiful and going to this spot brings you near a
glacier that is changing everyday. The drive there takes you over
an area that was wiped out about 10 years ago when a volcano (?)
erupted under the ice causing a huge wall of water to rush down,
devastating an area for miles, ripping out bridges, etc. Anyway,
thanks to all who have visited the cache site looking for it. Keep
