Come join us for an event in Martin, TN. The City of Martin Parks and Recreation are sponsoring the event to help us get the news out about geocaching to the local area.
Experienced geocachers will be present to show some techniques for hiding caches that will include discussions of cache placement as well as showing a variety of camouflage techniques. These presenters will offer tips for hunting caches as well.
Activities will be from 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, July 14th, on the Brian Brown Memorial Greenway close to the UTM campus. We will have some handheld gps units available for use, but you may also use your smartphone (iPhone, Droid, etc.) with a geocaching app downloaded on it.
All participants will be encouraged to offer their ideas on every topic.
The staff of the Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Martin has been very supportive of geocaching within the city. Parking is available and there are several geocaches located here.
If you plan to attend please indicate that on this web page so we will know exactly how many folks to expect. The City of Martin requests that all minors be accompanied by an adult. Thank you.
