We've been fortunate enough to meet a few people from this area who could still remember when an acre of land sold for $150, the El Camino Real was a dirt road and fruit orchards dominated the landscape of what is now Silicon Valley. Although we don't have as much personal history in the valley, we do remember not too long ago when this particular property was still a fully operational orchard. Recently it gave way to 'progress' and is now a retail / dining / residential complex named after what this property was once famous for producing: the World's Finest Cherries. Fortunately, one of the last visible reminders of Sunnyvale's agricultural heritage is still located nearby at N 37° 22.115 W 122° 02.144 . Stop inside if you wish, and take a look at some of the photos on display that tell a small part of one family's history with what was... Once an Orchard.
