The cache is in the Bob Heirman Wildlife Preserve at Thomas Eddy, which closes at dusk. Dogs are not permitted. The preserve is relatively undeveloped once away from the parking area where the picnic tables and portable restroom are located. The trails vary from old gravel roads to overgrown fisherman’s trails, which can be challenging. If you are a birder bring your binos. On hot days bring sunscreen and plenty of water. You may also want beach/swim stuff if you decide to find your way out to the river beaches; however, the trails out are a bit of a maze so you may want to take some waypoints on the way.
