This is another cache in the "Return to Tradition" series started by
Bubba Riley with "Return to Tradition #1: Burnt Out", and
continued by several other cachers. There are no tricky puzzles
to solve, no tiny micros to find – just a pleasant walk in the
woods, with the reward of a nicely-stocked ammo can along the
way.
Since the traditon of letterboxing predates geocaching by about
150 years, it seemed fitting to make this "return to tradition" a
letterbox hybrid. (The associated letterbox page is here. For those cachers who have never found
a letterbox before, please note that the stamp and the ink pad
are not trade items; they stay in the letterbox
container.)
A traditional coffee and a traditional donut await the first two
finders. (None of those new-fangled cappuccino/croissant combos,
now!)
Note: This property is open from dawn
to dusk. The cache and letterbox were placed with the permission of
the Sudbury Valley
Trustees, who ask only that we all respect the hours of
availability, and stay on the trails.
Map & Parking: A map of several conservation areas in
northwest Framingham including Henry’s Hill can be found
here. There are two places to park, both on the west side of
Wayside Inn Road in Framingham. Parking coordinates are listed
under "Additional Waypoints", below.
If you're interested in finding the other letterboxes in the SVT
challenge, this forum post includes links to all of them,
plus links to nearby caches.
