The Ubercache is a 5 gallon camouflaged bucket hidden along the
Loch in Central Park. The Loch is part of the ninety acre northern
section of the park known as the North Woods. It connects The Pool
to the south and Lasker Rink to the north and lies at the bottom of
The Ravine, the only stream valley in Central Park.
Sitting along the Loch on a deep summer’s day, listening to the
frothy chatter of one of the cascades, smelling the forsythia, it
would be easy to imagine yourself deep in a northern forest, miles
from the honking clangor of the city streets just a thousand yards
away. When you find The Ubercache, take a moment to enjoy your
surroundings.
Although technically a 'large' cache, The Ubercache is uber by
Manhattan standards. In fact, I believe it is the largest active
cache in Manhattan. But don't expect it to be an easy find. The
Ubercache is well hidden, and only slightly visible from a certain
angle.
After exchanging uberitems and signing the uberlog, please put
The Ubercache back exactly how you found it, and make sure the
lid is completely on and sealed. Because of its location, this
is very, very important.
First to find receives the FTF Ubercoin. There are also plenty
of goodies for second to find, third to find, and so on. We wish
you the best of luck on your journey to The Ubercache, and let us
know your thoughts on this beautiful area of the park.
Cheers,
