Warning

Please note: To use the services of geocaching.com, you must agree to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

This virtual cache is located in Thailand's Doi Inthanon National Park, southwest of Chiang Mai and is the highest point in Thailand.
To log a find for this virtual cache, locate the sign that is labelled "The Highest Spot in Thailand", which can be found using the coordinates above. Have someone take a picture of you holding your GPS infront of the sign with both the coordinates and elevation showing on the sign behind you and then upload the picture with your cache log. The picture to the right shows myself and my GPS taking a reading at the sign.

The coordinates on the sign were determined prior to the removal of selective availability, so they are slightly off. Also take note of the elevation shown on the sign and the precision used and compare it to your altitude reading on your GPS! For those that are interested, there is an official geological survey maker about 30 m up the trail behind the sign that is the "real" highest point.

I have spent a whole day in a really nice national park of Doi Inthanon and the "highest point" of the day was - for sure - the highest point of Thailand! :-) I will upload pictures soon...

Found it on a sunny day while driving the Hong Son Loop in my camper van.
Was not sure which sign to take the picture of. So I took photos of all the signs until the battery of my GPS went flat :-))

Found this one on a hot day at the start of a long day's caching - I got my photo taken in front of the sign but my girlfriend took what she thought was a spare & blank camera memory card & formatted it for her own use, so no photos to add unfortunately - the cache owner has allowed my find regardless. Fantastic views & well worth the journey.

Off course we had to do some caching in Chiang Mai. Didn't find this cache at the internet and we wanted to make our own virtual cache here. When we came home we saw you had the same idea. Fortunately we made a picture at the right point. Our picture is the same as the one from dtenboer.
