Infamous Puzzlers: FSU*Noles, P.I. Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Paklid: Oh, this one was getting close to that one year mark being unfound. Too bad I need to make a hole to put in a new cache so this is going to be sacrificed. So many aging caches out there filling up the parks.....

Geocache Description:

NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES

There's no doubting that FSU*Noles is an infamous puzzler. Having hundreds of puzzle finds, he has to take road trips just to get to an area with more puzzles to consume. He allows another area cacher to accompany him on these puzzle finding trips (sort of like Batman lets Robin ride with him in the Batmobile).

I have been fortunate enough to meet 48 different cachers "in the wild" (more than that really, since some cacher groups use a common name). Many of these encounters have been in the race for an FTF. In more than three years of caching, I've never had the pleasure of running into FSU*Noles though. I'm sure it's purely an innocent happenstance.

Sudoku puzzles for caches have probably been overdone. It's just that the 1 through 9 nature of them makes them kind of ideal for coords. Use a solver if you feel so inclined; I did (in reverse) to generate the unique solution, and I admit that I've used solvers on a few of the sudoku cache puzzles (I still enjoy the logic challenge though). So whether you are a logic purist, or you use a little innocent web help to arrive at the solution, take a crack at the puzzle. The hard part is after the sudoku is solved anyway.

Enough blah, blah, blah, here's the puzzle:

One more thing, without going into detail, I think you'll find this is a dandy tool for doing things like intersections and projections: Great Circle Calculator
