One of the 14 caches in the now archived Shore to Shore Geochallenge.
The Michigan Shore-To-Shore Trail begins at Lake Michigan in Empire and ends more than 200 miles east at Lake Huron near Oscoda.The trail was created and is maintained by the Michigan Trail Riders Association in cooperation with the DNR. Closed to motorized traffic, it passes through meadows and forests where possible and uses roadside shoulders where necessary.
You are looking for a one quart size plastic jar camo-ed. I had difficulty maintaining sat signals when placing the cache, which will no doubt get worse as the leaves fill in. Park near the informative S2S sign in the campground and enjoy a short walk along the trail (less than ¼ mile round trip). The cache is hidden near the trail, so be on the lookout for passing muggles if you visit when the campground is in use. As always, please replace things as they were, or better!
