KeyChase Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

mlord: Well, since people are either too dumb or too lazy (or both) to find just one of the multitude of key waypoints out there for this cache, I'm archiving it. No point in allowing "found" logs from people who just get the coords from a pal and then force the container open.

GONE.

Geocache Description:

A multicache with a roving first waypoint!

This cache is NOT at exactly the coordinates given, but is somewhere in the same neck of the woods. The first waypoint of this cache is a keychain, which roves around between other (random) GeoCaches in the Ottawa area. To get started, one must first obtain the keychain from some other cache!

The keychain has both a key and the coordinates for an intermediate waypoint attached to it. By travelling to that waypoint, one can obtain the coordinates for the actual GeoCache box itself, which is located in the same general area.

Please keep the keychain in circulation in the Ottawa area (only!). Once in your possession, you have 36 hours to use it and then pass it on to a different third-party cache anywhere in the Ottawa area.

This cache is not hard to find when in possession of the keychain, but the keychain itself may prove more difficult to locate as time goes on, thus the given difficulty rating. The cache is a wooden box, with a weatherproof plastic container inside to keep stuff dry.

There are currently four keychains in circulation for this cache. The original was placed nearby in "275 Down 29 to Go" on 9-Oct-2002, and has since moved on to darker pastures. A second key was released in 2003. Both of those appear to have been lost sometime in 2006, so a *third* key was deployed in April 2007, beginning at Con Currency cache. That key has also now gone AWOL, and a *fourth* key has now been deployed at Traffic cache on 09/09/09.

Enjoy!
