This cache is not located in the National Park but on a beautiful, rarely visited beach on the eastern end of the island. It is above the water line. This is an area where flotsam and jetsam tend to wash up so if you can, please bring a garbage bag and take some of it away. Remember CITO! No bushwhacking is required at this site.
Drive up to the new home sites rising above it for an even more impressive view of St. John and the islands surrounding it. For snorkeling at this beach, there is a very nice reef to the left. There are usually big critters there and sometimes a bit of a surge so caution is warranted. Keep going on the road and you will end up at the very end of St. John.
Small note on cache maintenance: We own a home on St. John and are there every other month or so and will be able to maintain this cache.
