Ahoy Landlubbers!
You asked for it so here it is.
The First Hydro-Palooza from phat.bak and Trez 003.
We will meet at the above coordinates at 11:00 am. This will be and all day event.
We will have use of a Lake Home and Dock as the event HQ.
Bring your swimsuits, as there is a dock and beach for you to hang out on and take a plunge in the cool waters of Lake Lanier.
Sorry, No skinny-dipping please.
We will have a flotilla of boats to ferry you to many of the water-only caches on the lake.
At 11:30 we will have hot dogs and other munchies and a brief run down on the seating assignments.We plan on pulling up anchor and launching the watercraft at 12:30 sharp so don’t miss the boat.
If you have a Boat you can launch at Bethel Park. N 34.13.626 x W 83.59.553(Directions to Boat Launch: Hwy 369 [aka Browns Bridge Rd], to Bethel Road. Turn left on Swiss Air. Park is at end of road.)
All are welcome to cache or just hang around the lake - BUT - we need an accurate headcount as soon as you can let us know.
1. Very Important! We need to know who is coming and how many in your party. Break it down to who is going geocaching and/or who will be hanging back, enjoying the water at the dock/beach.
2. Very Important! We need to know who will/can bring boats or other watercraft. There is a large dock that can accommodate several watercrafts but we need to know if your watercraft will be used as a ferry for the Geocachers. Please include how many 'bodies' you can take/hold. (Please post your answers to 1 and 2 on this cache page.)
Phat.bak and I will be placing a few close by caches for this event too. So you will have a chance to add a few more smiley’s, that is if you can find them of course.
Remember, boats can only get so close to shore, so plan on getting wet! Bring a towel and a change of clothes too. Don’t forget the suntan oil, bug spray, shoes you can get wet and your favorite beverage. There will be a place for changing clothes at the Lake Home.
