Geocache Description:

Boundline Road in Wolcott was once the boundary line between Waterbury & Farmington. The area residents formed their own parish, called Farmingbury & in 1796 the town of Wolcott was incorporated
Originally, Boundline Road ran in a fairly straight north -south line through town.

In the early 1900's a reservoir was created by the Scovill Mfg. Co. in Waterbury to supply water for the brass mill. To accommodate the reservoir, Boundline Road was diverted to the east slightly. The section of the road that was abandoned is where this cache was placed. If you look carefully you will see the remains of the stone walls that once lined the road. You will also see a foundation which, according to a map from 1868 on the Wolcott Historical Society web site, (visit link) was once the home of Mrs. L. Hall. Please do not disturb the foundation – the cache is not there!

This cache location is a short walk from Woodtick Road. There is limited parking available along the road just north of the where the road passes the reservoir at N41 35.205 W072 58.238. There is a path leading into the area. WATCH TRAFFIC! If the reservoir is higher than usual the path may be muddy. The cache can also be reached from the water if you are doing the Best of Both Worlds hydro caches here. This is a popular fishing area so watch for muggles. The cache is a decon container. CITO if possible.
