The Golden Sunsets cache is so named for the beautiful, golden sunsets that are visible from this beach. If you can make it out near to sunset you're sure to be treated to a great view (weather permitting). Part of the attraction is the walk along the beach, with the views of the mountains, and the sound of the water. We suggest that you park in the largest lot, somewhere around 47° 41.344N 122° 24.184W. If you are in a hurry or are unable to walk a moderate distance over sand there is closer parking available, just keep driving north.

If you can, make a day of this cache, or at least a few hours. Bring your camera or your kite to enjoy the views and the stiff breezes. Pack a picnic and sit on the beach as you eat. Near to the parking coordinates there are iron fire rings, so you might want to plan on having a bonfire as evening falls. Also, keep your ears open for the sound of sea lions. Once you've finished walking along the beach cross over to the other end of the main parking lot where you will find Little Coney, a great place to get a cup of coffee or an ice cream cone.

The cache container is an ammo box, painted a brownish colour. With the wide open skies you should be able to get a good fix without any trouble, so we don't think you'll have any trouble. This end of the beach is not as busy as the other, but keep your eyes open for people sitting on the nearby benches or walking through the dunes. Dogs are not permitted on the beach (though many people ignore this rule), so if your caching buddy runs on four legs you might want to leave him at home.
