Geocache Description:

This cache is located on a well-used stretch of the Elora Cataract Trail. The ECT is a 47 km multiuse trailway, linking the Grand River & Gredit Valley River watersheds; following an old Canadian Pacific railroad bed.

You can access this cache, via the trailhead on the Second Line, outside of Fergus. There is roadside parking available for a few cars. Or you may choose to enter via the trail near the Shand Dam Conservation Area. No park admission charge for hikers entering on the trail. A user fee is usually required if you decide to park your vehicle within the park however. I usually park on the sideroad (3rd Line) adjacent to the park's main entrance and walk across the road.

If you notice some trees that have been snapped in half along the way; you are seeing the remnants of a F2 tornado that came through this area in August 20005.

This cache is a small camoflaged lock n lock box, with room for small trading items, travel bugs and geocoins. Please bring along a pen/pencil. Also please use some stealth, as it is a well-used portion of the ECT.
