Take a short walk in the lawn to the side of the museum
entrance.
The National Road stretched from Cumberland, MD. to Vandalia, IL.
Begun in 1806, the "Main Street of America" was the only
significant land link between east coast and western frontier in
the early 19th century. The cache is located outisde of the museum
so there is no admission fee to find it.

[view this log] | October 9 by Geo13 (20711 found) We have been caching in Ohio for 9 days, finding 300 caches. We have been unable to log the caches until now due to the fact that we left our cabin in Grand Haven campground in Kimbolton, Ohio, before dawn and returned around 8:00 p.m., having no access to the Internet at the office. We are deeply grateful for all these caches and thank the cachers who placed and maintain them. We met a few of these cachers while out caching. Thanks for this quick find! SL! Muskingum County! I enjoyed reading Zane Grey's books as a boy.
[view this log] | September 11 by diamond1949 (692 found) 9-11-09 out on a eight county run (Washington, Noble, Monroe, Belmont, Guernsey, Muskingham, Fairfield, and Licking)working towards accomplishing the 88 counties in Ohio. Great hide. It was getting late, picked up "Cachanova" travel bug and left "Ninja" travel bug. Arrived around 3:50pm on site. The museum manager was standing by our van, he said he knew we must be geocachers, so he waited for us, before locking the gate. Museum closed at 4pm.
