Waackaack (pronounced "Way-kay-ack") is one of the former names of
the town. The area is said to have first been discovered by the
European world in the early 1600's by Henry Hudson, though the land
was already home to the Lenape Indians.
The town eventually grew into a bustling summer resort town in
the mid-1900's. Attractions included the amusement park, steamboat
service, and beaches.
Today, Keansburg has become a middle-class suburban town, with
the amusement park still in operation after 100+ years.

Now down to business:
The Waackaack Cache is located on the Keansburg Beach. You'll be
looking for a round Ziploc container with a blue screw-on lid.
Original cache contents: log book and pencil; special First to
Find certificate; 2 homemade Waackaack Cache balls; Pez Dispenser;
Hotwheels Batmobile; Grow-a-dinosaur; beaded bracelet; Hula Girl
change pouch; and a mini deck of cards.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. During summer, the parking lot near the cache is metered.
2. Sandals aren't recommended due to small sticker bushes and
debris leading to the beach.
3. If visiting during the summer, the Keansburg Amusement Park and
Runaway Rapids Waterpark are right there - why not stop by for a
