Camping

There are 24 primitive camping sites available at White Star Park for $10.00 per night.  It is a first come, first served deal, there are no reservations. If you are interested you should claim and pay for a site as soon as possible on the day you arrive.  There are details about the campground on the park's website. (weblink below) Also, if the sites fill up you can put 2 families on one site.  The maximum is 8 people per site, which can be 2 tents or a tent and a camper, but not 2 campers.

Sites with utilities are expected to be available sometime in 2005 at $20 per night.

Misc.

There is a quarry in White Star Park that offers swimming and scuba diving, see the park website (weblink below) for details.

There's 800 acres to explore here, plus there are many caches in the area including [if it's like the last 2 summers] 6 caches that Sandusky County Parks has placed including one in White Star Park itself.  Make a weekend of it and have some fun in Sandusky County.

"The Shed" has electricity, running water, nearby restrooms as well as horseshoe pits and volleyball nets so feel free to bring equipment for those games if you'd like.

DOGS  are welcome at White Star Park with the following rules in place:
1. They must be on a leash.
2. They cannot be tied to trees.
3. You must clean up after them. (and we don't mean picking up their toys)

Please check this event cache page occasionally for updates.

If you are going to attend, please log a "will attend" note on this page by May 12th including the number of people that you are bringing so that we can have an adequate amount of food.

Special Thanks to BlackBrownDog for their generous donation of the use of this shelter as well as taking the lead in planning this event.  :)
