Hawkins Islet Traditional Geocache

This cache is located on the very small Hawkins Islet, near Prevost Island, which is part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve of Canada. A pretty little island, full of flowers, garry oaks, and prickly things!

You will need a boat to reach this cache - a kayak, canoe, or very small motorboat would work best, as there isn't really much in the way of beach to land at (at least at high tide - not sure about low tide). You can Kayak here from Salt Spring Island and others (I came from Parker Island, near Montague Harbour on Galiano Island). The water can get dangerous in some weather, so be sure to check the marine weather forecast for Haro Straight and Georgia Straight (the weather here is usually some combination of the two). Camping is not permitted on this island.
