On top of Pikes Peak, elevation 14,110 feet.

My fiance and I decided to go up Pikes Peak and perhaps do a geocache while there. And lo and behold, when we got on the website to find a cache on Pikes Peak, there were none to be found. This seemed like a travesty, considering the fame of Pikes Peak - "America's Mountain". So we decided to remedy that.

This cache is located at the summit of Pikes Peak near the parking area. It is in a tupperware container. The original contents of the cache include the "Evil Monkey Travel Bug," Kansas Sunshine geocoin, and currency from around the world (China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and some currency from some Latin American countries).

This is my first time to place a geocache. Hope you enjoy it. Be prepared that you may have to hunt for a while to find this one. Thanks.

Cache Logs

We almost did not make it to the top as the Cog Wheel Train did not know if they would be able to go up as the winds where 50-60 MPH. We lucked out and made it to the top, but only had about 40 minutes on the top, I only looked for about 5 minutes and had to go.

Thanks for the cache any ways.

Rode the Cog Railway up on a perfect day 32 degrees on the summit and clear blue skies as far as the eye could see. Found the cache after a couple of minutes of looking. TFTC!!!

We went to the ticket station to get tickets for the 10:40 train that morning at 8:00 A.M. It was -1 degree at the top but it warmed up to a toasty +14 by the time we got up to the top. Nuao & TerryNGS106 were already searching when our team joined the search and found the cache. SL and handed off TB to them to take back to Japan or Florida. Met 4 new lady friends who travel togeather every year from Moo University on the train ride back down. You know, you meet the nicest people and have the most fun when geocaching. TFTC
