Bunker cache Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Skookum Bear: As the cache owner has not indicated that they have visited the cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities. If the cache owner would like to replace a cache at this location, please submit a new geocache listing and it will be reviewed under the current Geocaching guidelines.

Please do not respond to this note by sending an email reply - your response will go to an unmonitored location and disappear into the ether instead of being sent to me. If you need to contact me regarding this cache, please do so using the link on my Profile Page

Geocache Description:

This cache replaces the original "Bunker Cache" which was located in the same area. The new cache container is a 5 x 7 Lock n Lock painted camo,  and contains numerous trade items.

The original Bunker Cache posed some challenges to those who sought to find it, I have decided to reduce that challenge significantly and yet continue to have the cache as a multi-cache.

Bunker Cache is located in Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park, located approx 20km East of Chilliwack, BC. The park is located along the Trans-Canada highway. Take exit #135 and continue East approximately 1.5km, signs will direct you to the entrance to the park and the parking area. The park is closed to vehicular traffic during the winter months, however access is permitted on foot. Park at the gate @ N 49 11.153 W 121 44.655 and enter the park from there, do not block the entrance or you could find your vehicle missing when you return. You might want to visit Trans-Canada Waterslides while in the area. Plan your visit ahead of time, and spend the day in the area. Bring your camera, there is lots to photograph. While in the area, visit the other two caches in the park, as well as one just outside the park. Chilliwack's very first cache is located in this park, so be sure to plan on seeking it as well.

From the parking lot take the Woodland Trail, the posted co-ordinates will take you to the convergence of the Woodland Trail and another (un-named) trail leading to the Falls, there you will find a sign pointing toward the Falls which has "To Falls" written on it. From this point walk 45 meters toward the falls, you should now be standing on a small footbridge. Now look to your right you will see a large fallen tree with it's roots in the stream bed. The instructions to the cache can be found under a small log in a groove in the top of the fallen tree near the roots.

A  warning is warranted here for those entering the parking area and most every other parking area these days, that is to be sure you do not leave valuables in your vehicle, leave nothing visible inside the vehicle, and lock your valuables in your trunk, there are signs posted in the parking area warning of thieves at work here, it is advisable to heed these signs.
