November 22, 2009 by Me & Bucky (8275 found) Bucky & I found this one on the 4th day of our trip back down to Las Vegas from Northeastern Oregon. Today we went from Tonopah to Caliente, spending the first half of the day finding caches around Tonopah in the excellent Elements series. Around noon we high-tailed it out of town to the east on US 6 up to Lund, then turned south along NV 318 to the Bristol Road at the 250K Cache, then east to US 93, and south to Caliente for the night. With the finding of the Hot Stuff cache in Bristol, we have now found at least one cache in all of the Nevada Delorme Map pages! Temps for the day were perfect, starting out right at freezing in Tonopah in the early morning, heading up to the mid-50s while cruising the roads in the central part of the state, gradually coming back down to freezing as we got into Caliente well after dark. Is there anything more fun than getting out in the wide-open spaces of the basin and range country and drinking in the wonderful views that this state has to offer? Just got on the road heading east out of Tonopah, looking for a cache. And look, here's one right at the side of the road! Thanks for the cache!!
