Geocache Description:

Preferred acces is via Sudbury River at N42 20.993, W071 22.050. This is small cache for exchanging coins of the world.

Carabiner’s Canoe-able Coin Cache
This is a special purpose multi-part mini-cache with the goal of exchanging coins from around the world. It is a small black container approximately 2” x 3” x 4” which is large enough to hold many coins and a small log book but not much more. Please leave ONLY coins of the world and record a brief note of coins left and taken. No need to start a new page each log. Please fill up the pages front and back – it’s a small log.

This cache is accessible by water from the Sudbury River landing at N42 20.993, W071 22.050. The cache is also reachable by land off Rt. 27 in Wayland. Congratulations to GO$Rs for the FTF. He rented a canoe to meet the come by water requirement for FTF. That's dedication! This is a beautiful area of the Sudbury river. Even though it is a well populated area, the river is a National Wildlife Preserve and you are quite well shielded from civilization in most areas. The closest put in is on Pelham Island Road at N42 21.537, W071 22.136. about .72 miles down river. You can also put in at Rt. 20 (1.2 mi North). If you want a longer paddle from the south you can put in at Little Farm Rd. in Framingham, about 2.75 miles up river. The stretch between the Little Farm Rd. oxbow and the cache can be a bit tricky in low water, however.

The cache is initially stocked with coins from France (20c), US (Sacagawea $), Sweden (1Kr, 10 ore, 25 ore), Canada ($2), Denmark (1Kr Margrethe, 1Kr Frederik), Japan (10¥, 100¥), Mexico (5p, 1p), UK (10p, 5p, 6p, 1p), Euro (10¢), Italy (£500), and BSA (1973 Nat’l Jamboree coin). There was also a Geocoin to start off the cache.

From the river landing at N42 20.993, W071 22.050 you should head to a point at 21 degrees (T) for 474 feet (.089 mi.) to visit Buddy and his friends Teddy, Tinker and the others. While here you can visit another popular geocache GCGCD8. When ready to leave Buddy, head 110 degrees (T) for 800 feet (.1515 mi.) to find the cache. At this point your path will have formed two legs of a triangle whose area is 189,266 sq. ft. (Note that in this area the magnetic declination is 15.5 degrees West. i.e. add 15.5 degrees to True (T) bearings to get the magnetic (M) bearing on the compass.)
