Curse of the FTF #10 - Gauteng (Indigenous Magic) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

GEO936: I am battling to get all my maintenance done. And it really breaks my heart to archive this one which was part of a cool series of caches which went "unnoticed" but was not actually allowed by Groundspeak at the time. It was an awesome experience to put this one together, to attempt a listing in Afrikaans was a huge challenge and I thank my dear friends for their help with this one. We have lost this cache twice already, and both times we spent a mild fortune on the hide. It seems as if it is just not meant to be.
Thanks to those that found it in the past!
If we ever get the chance to fix it again, we'll get it unarchived.
Best regards
Silvia - GEO936

About this Cache:

This cache is now available from Monday to Sunday, from 08h00 to 17h00. It is also available on Public Holidays. As you will need time to complete this cache, please ensure that you attempt it at least one hour before closing time (if that is the only time you can get there).

Unfortunately, the original cache was muggled/damaged and I've had to replace it with a new hide. The new hide is NOT the same as the original one, which had taken us a lot of effort to put together. Sorry, that this cache is not as fun/evil as the first one.

The cache has been placed in a very special nursery with the kind permission of the owner. This nursery specialises in Indigenous plants from South Africa. Please note and respect the opening and closing times and let someone know what you are here for. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE THROUGH THE PROPERTY!! Please ensure that you park at the entrance/parking area, and complete this cache by foot.

Enjoy the beautiful surroundings that nature has to offer. While placing the cache, we spotted an White Bellied Sunbird (Witpenssuikerbekkie) - Cinnyris talatala.

To calculate the Final Co-ordinates:

You'll need to find the botanical (scientific) names to the following indigenous plants:

1. South Africa's National Tree

2. South Africa's National Flower

From 1.- Take the species name (second word) and convert to numbers using: a=1, b=2, etc.
Take the total value of the letters and add 562 to get ABC

From 2. - Take the genus name (first word) and also convert to numbers using a=1, b=2, c=3, etc.
Take the total value of the letters and add 653 to get XYZ.
Substitute the above results into:
S26 01.ABC
E027 53.XYZ

The rules are really simple:

1. Whoever finds the cache first (FTF) should place the next cache in the series [The Curse of the FTF - Gauteng #5(xyz etc.)] within 1 month. Otherwise the curse will prevent you from ever getting another FTF again !(just joking)

2. It is asked that you only be a FTF for this series once. This is to give others a chance to be the FTF.

3. It can be any type of cache (Puzzle, Multi, etc.)

4. When the next cache is placed e-mail the owners of all the preceding caches so a link can be added.

5. The cache must be placed in Gauteng only.

6.If you are the FTF in this series and do not wish to continue the series, PLEASE say so in your log entry. This will give the 2nd-TF, 3rd-TF, etc. the option to continue the game. NOTE: to all who hunt FTF's in this series... Reviewers have been instructed by Groundspeak not to approve caches that have a requirement to place an additional cache or caches as a condition of logging the find. You can make a suggestion that the person do so, but it can't be a requirement

Omtrent hierdie Skat:

S26 01.ABC
E027 53.XYZ

Die reëls is eenvoudig:

[The Curse of the FTF - Gauteng #11(xyz etc.)] binne 1 maand, anders sal die vloek verhoed dat jy ooit weer 'n ander FTF vind! (Net 'n grappie)
