Geocache Description:

Well, this cache was originally planned as the follow up to kloof corner easy over 5 years ago, and at last I have got round to placing it!

This is a difficult hike and is best done as one single hike with Kloof Corner Difficult.
Please do not attempt this hike unless you are not scared of heights, and are able to pull yourself up chains - the chains on this hike are much higher and trickier than the Lions head chains. Also there is a thinnish crack you need to climb up, so those with a large frame might struggle.

Do not attempt these caches alone, and if you have not already done so, rather try Frodo's Journey, Not for the faint hearted, and Traverse . . . Reverse first, before doing these caches. Please note that Kloof corner difficult is the 1st 5 star terrain cache I have hidden, as I deem it trickier than any of the others.

Please allow at least 5 - 6 hours for the hike. Bring plenty of food and water and do not attempt this cache on a wet or extremely windy day.

You can either start from lower cable car station, and head up stairs on right side of bus parking lot. When you reach the contour path, turn right, and head to corner, or park on the sharp corner before cable car station, and walk up by the sign Kloof Corner.

Waypoint 1 :
S33° 56.950
E018° 23.951

Here you will find the first chain to climb, and is your first chance to turn back should this not be your cup of tea. Bear in mind the second chain is about 3 times as high as this one, although that is only needed to be done for Kloof Corner Difficult.

If the chain is no problem to you, at the top, head left and scramble up by the cairn. Go left again to Waypoint 2:
S33° 56.969
E018° 23.960

Here you should see a small cairn, scramble up this ledge (just to the left of the power pole). Once up this section, head a few meters left to find the path under the power lines.Continue on the path until S33° 57.113 E018° 24.000.
Take the left path here, and follow path up the ravine to the obvious cleft in the cliff face.
Head through the cleft to the 12 apostles side (watch out - there can sometimes be a fierce wind on the other side!)

To find the cache, go down 10m to the ledge on the right. Cache is hidden in tiny crevice in rocky outcrop. (there is no need to go too near cliff edge, but be careful as you head down to cache site!

If you feel that you do not want to proceed to Kloof Corner Difficult, you can retrace your steps and climb back down the 1st chain. But remember, its always harder climbing down than up.

Note: this cache can also be reached by doing traverse. . . reverse, and continuing along the traverse

Note: Thanks to The Pooks for kindly offering to help with cache maintenance.
