Geocache Description:

The cache is a small camo container. Cache is winter friendly but the road may not be. You can always park at N43 36,411 W89 23.534 and walk it. Small trade goods OK.

According to legend, in the Kingdom of French Creek all of the people were free to enjoy the many recreational opportunities at the end of a rough dirt trail that went through the woods. Two of those people were Robin Hood and Maid Mariann. They enjoyed fishing and hunting and parking their horseless carriage at the end of the trail, sometimes in the dark! As time passed the Kingdom came under the control of the evil Sheriff of Nottingham (also known as the DNR) The sheriff decided that it would be better if the people had to walk from the road (good exercise you know) so he put up a gate. Robin Hood didn't agree so he took down the gate. The sheriff put up a stronger gate and Robin took it down. After several attempts the sheriff gave up and settled for a gate down at the levee. Robin Hood settled for that also. So the reason that you can drive so far into this pretty area is thanks to a local Robin Hood.

Cache has been approved by Pat Kaiser of the Poynette Office of the DNR.
