Located right off the University of Mississippi campus, Park at the University Museums on University Avenue. The waypoint coordinates take you to a micro cache where you will receive the coordinates to the final stage. You will be on a trail traversing Bailey’s Woods.Enjoy a nice walk alomg this trail.No bikes allowed any longer,foot travel only !
In 1930 William Faulkner purchased the “Old Bailey Place” built by Colonel Robert Sheegog around 1844. Faulkner renamed it “Rowan Oak” after the legend of the Rowan tree mentioned in Sir James Frazer's “The Golden Bough,” which is said to bestow good luck to its owner. In 1950 Faulkner was awarded the Nobel Prize for works he set to paper while in his private world at Rowan Oak.
