Mr. James Cox, the manager at the Reelfoot Lake State Park, has
been a great help in planning this CITO event. He has offered his
support in our efforts to maintain a part of the State Park at
Reelfoot for those that follow behind us. The meeting point for
this CITO is at the posted coordinates at the information center
near the spillway. We will gather for a group photo, followed by
about 2-2 1/2 hours of cleaning around the state park areas of
Reelfoot.
Because there are several locations that are a part of the
Reelfoot Lake State Park, transportation from this meeting point to
other areas may be necessary. Trash bags will be provided and some
transportation to other park areas will also be available.
There will be plenty of work available for those in wheelchairs,
and the terrain there will be rated 1, but the overall rating is
1/2 due to some of the non-wheelchair areas of the CITO.
Because this a state park, alcoholic beverages and firearms are
not allowed.
There will be a post-Cito meet & greet at Lakeview Dining
Room following the clean-up. The coordinates for this activity, for
those that would like to stay, are N36° 21.080 W089° 25.464. This
activity will likely start around 1:00 PM.
This will allow a time to display and trade TBs, recognize
milestones of GOWT members, have a great meal (Dutch Treat) for
those interested, and hear updates on geocaching in Tennessee State
Parks.
YA'LL COME!
UPDATE 3/16/2008: The CITO date has been rescheduled due to
bad weather on 3/8. All of the other parts of the schedule are the
same.
