Geocache Description:

Here is another cache in my Yates County Backroads Series.  As with most of these caches, this one is fairly easy.  The real reason for the cache isn't some fancy container, or difficult find, its the adventure you have when driving to the cache.

Welcome to Garrett Memorial Chapel.  The cache is not located on the Chapel grounds and is accessible from the road side of the fence.  However, the ground are open to the public if the fence gates are open.  Please only visit the area during daylight hours.  And please avoid the area on Sunday morning during the summer.  The road is seasonal and not maintained during the months of December through April.

Garrett Memorial Chapel is a small Church in the Norman Gothic Style located on Bluff Point, Yates Co., New York. On 30 March 2001 the Chapel was added to the National Register of Historic Places.  The Chapel was built in the 1930's by the Garrett family of whom Paul Garrett was a major figure in the American wine industry as a memorial to his son Charles who had died of tuberculosis in 1929.

After finding the cache please proceed to N 42 30.458 W 077 07.863 if the gates are open for a spectacular view.

Good luck with your search and I hope you enjoy the view.
