SC- not! - What is wrong with this LC? Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

frivlas: Well, it has had a good long run. It saw the fake tree removed and a new one installed. The hide location has changed and no longer supports the original hide so it is time for it to go.

Geocache Description:

This is a quick micro cache beside a fake tree and a long rant about badly maintained locationless caches. The description includes an example of why some people disliked locationless caches. I'm leaving the original text inspite of the fact that locationless caches are now archived. The physical cache and the locationless target are both still here.

One of the trees on this little hill is obviously fake. This is a locationless cache target.

Sometimes a locationless cache find is so good that it needs to be logged more than once. This happens despite the fact that there is a tool to assist you when logging/maintaining a locationless cache. You can find out if your prospective locationless cache has been claimed here.

At some stage there were three folks claiming this particular tree. Partly because my coordinates were off a bit.

Further examples of this custom can be found in the list, despite the fact that the rules for the cache state only find per tree.

You decide if you want to claim it as well.

Oh, the cache - a micro, no need to bend over.

EDIT 01/09/05: OK, this cache is not really within the city limits of Santa Clara. Mea Culpa. EDIT 01/15/05: I renamed it and put up a new SC10 within the city limits.
