Geocache Description:

We have adopted this classic to keep it going. The information below is from the original cache page and for the most part remains accurate. NOTE however, that there are different options on where to put in such as Robeling Park, which makes for a shorter adventure.

The container is now a bison tube, and the hint is changed slightly. You do not need to get out of your yak to reach the cache.

Discover the beauty of Trenton! This cache was placed along a marked kayaking/canoeing trail in Crosswicks and Watson Creeks. Put in at the public launch near the Bordentown Yacht club, N40 08.880, W074 43.100. This launch is at the mouth of Crosswicks creek and is a wonderful spot to visit, boats or not! You do not need a permit to launch your kayak or canoe here. (permits are required to launch boats from trailers).

This cache is located about 2 miles from the launch as the crow flies. It is not accessible at low tide, so it is best attempted beginning 1-3 hours before peak high tide, depending on how fast you paddle. Check the tide tables: (visit link)
Doing this paddle at this time will allow you to ride the current both ways.

Paddle past acres and acres of arrowleaf arum, past rare and beautiful songbirds, (bring your binoculars!), and past dramatic cliffs of Bordentown. This sojourn will allow you to see life from an angle that most people do not get to see. This place really makes one appreciate the NJ wetlands. If you look closely at the riverbank, you can see "slides" made by river otters.

This area is tidal, therefore there are currents, and sometimes these currents can be very strong. You can paddle against the current, but it's a lot easier and more pleasant to allow the tide to carry you either way. This is a pristine area, so please respect the vegetation and the animals when looking for this cache.

***********
This cache is a PADDLE-TO CACHE ONLY. Please do not attempt to hike to this cache. Hiking to this cache will require bushwhacking through and harming delicate marshland, as well as swimming. This is not advised as we have seen a ~60 lb snapping turtle in the general area of the cache.

The cache has been moved to a location that has no land access.

It is not necessary to bushwhack, and there is probably no need to get out of your boat. The cache is a small plastic bottle located right at the water's edge. Small trade items only. Bring your lunch, some extra water, some binoculars, and a camera! It's also neat to paddle under 295 just past the cache. So much hustle and bustle above belies the beauty of the creek below. Travel on a little bit and check out the caches in nearby Roebling park!

When paddling, always wear a PFD, and don't paddle alone. Team Gremlin does not recommend this cache in winter. The currents can be quite strong, and the water is deep. Make sure you time this so you do not get stuck up the creek at peak low tide. Be mindful of and give way to motorized boats, staying toward the edges is a good practice. Paddle safely, and have a great time!
