Geocache Description:

Elevation is 5773 with a gentle/ steep hike. Read the directions carefully. I have given Akwhoudini a tack hammer to take off after anybody who chooses to ignore them and messes them up. Thanks, MTboy.

This cache is special. It combines many things that I love about geocaching.

1. It is a challenge. In your way to logging this cache you will not raise your numbers significantly. You will however raise your fitness, your appreciation for Alaska, knowledge of amazing areas in your backyard, and the amount of respect that Mtboy has for you:)

2. It will take you to country that is far greater in beauty than many people will enjoy their entire life. Enjoy it, respect it, take care of it!

3. Either you will have stronger friendships built along the way...or a stronger character. Either way you win.

The coordinates posted are the actual coordinates. However, in your log must meet the following requirements...

The SUM of the elevation of 5 ALASKAN caches you personally have found AND LEGALLY LOGGED must be greater than or equal to the summit of Denali. If you don't know what that is look it up...If you can't figure it out email Akwhoudini and ask for the "tackhammer special".

Remember, you may not use some lame colorado 14er cache you drove your car to, remember they must be Alaskan.

This cache is in a spot filled with amazing beauty. Take care of it. Access is not easy to find. I will not leave access waypoints on here. However, if you post your summits or email me, I will be willing to help you find your way. I just don't want people not interested in the game getting information from me. Locals can be testy if you aren't respectful. The hike is not a technical one. It is a full day hike. There are mountains and glaciers in every direction. You will fall in love with this area.

I want to reiterate the idea that ACCESS IS DIFFICULT. Please respect private property. People are pretty mum about how to get here. It will require some research or some fresh cookies on my doorstep:)

Bring a Chugach map so you can identify the local peaks...It is a fun game.

Summit bids on Raina and Peeking mountain are easy from this location. Summiting Pleasant Peak is also done from this location although not so easily...Feel free to go the rest of the way up. Bring a cache and give Mtboy something to dream about.
