Cascade Gardens (micro) Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

SnowLeopard: I'm archiving this cache, as it has long gone missing and I just don't have the time to dedicate to placing a new one. I hope someone else places a cache in this park. Even though it isn't the prettiest park in Duluth, it has a great history.

Geocache Description:

Cascade Park once spanned 49 acres across Duluth, and was considered one of the most beautiful parks in the nation. Even though this park is no longer the beauty it once was, this hidden park has a great view and even greater potential.

Due to a lack of good hiding spaces, this is a very easy multi-cache (just two stages that are very close to each other). Even though the cache is simple, I wanted to bring people to downtown's "hidden park".
The cache is a small-tube 4" long and 1.25" wide. Please bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log.

  1. Go to the coordinates posted. Here you will see a pavilion that is modeled after the original pavilion (top right in the photo above). Take a moment to look at the incredible view of the lake.
  2. Look up. Count the beams supporting the roof of the structure (the beams radiate out from the top).
  3. Calculate the coordinates to the final stage of this cache by adding the number of beams to the last three digits of both the numbers below.
