As sementes são o principal recurso para propagar novas plantas no viveiro do Parque Ecológico do Funchal. A produção neste espaço é preferencialmente de plantas autóctones da Madeira, características de zonas entre os 900 e 1800 metros de altitude. Algumas plantas são produzidas a partir de estacas, com destaque para a Uveira-da-serra, mas a maior parte são propagadas por sementes, como o loureiro, o til, o vinhático, os massarocos, os goivos e as estreleiras.
As plantas produzidas neste viveiro são utilizadas na recuperação da biodiversidade da vegetação original do Parque Ecológico e em atividades de educação ambiental. Pode visitar o viveiro durante o dia, a partir do acesso à cache, respeitando o local e as plantas.

The seeds are the main resource to propagate new plants in the nursery of the Funchal Ecological Park. The production of this space is preferentially autochthonous plants of Madeira, characteristics of areas between 900 and 1800 meters of altitude. Some plants are grown from cuttings, especially the Madeira Blueberry, others by seeds, like the Bay tree, the Fetid laurel, the Madeira mahogany, the Pride of Madeira, the Mountain wallflower and the Mandon's Chrysanthemum are the species most produced.
