Geocache Description:

You will need a canoe or kayak for this cache. Absolutely no swimming allowed. People were swimming when I placed this but I've been there when people got busted. "You come in here" "Why should I?" "Because I'm a Police Officer that's why!" SCRAMBLE, ride in a car, bye bye.

Huntington State Park was once the home and studio of Anna Vaughn Hyatt Huntington ( (visit link) )and Archer Huntington. When I was a little girl in fourth grade our class took a trip to Anna's studio. She was a prolific sculptress and we got to see her statue of General Isreal Putnam, in it's clay form, that now stands at Putnam State Park (near here: N41 20.354 W73 22.862, and there is a cache in Putnam Park too). Other works by Anna Hyatt Huntington can be seen at The Redding Elementary School near here: N41 18.534 W73 23.037, John Read Middle School N41° 18.343 W073° 24.153, Mark Twain Library Near here: N41 17.977 W73 24.026, and two statues by Anna are in this park near the picnic area on Sunset Hill Rd at N41° 19.907 W073° 21.546. They are worth a visit. I placed this cache in Anna's memory, to thank her and her husband for this gorgeous park. It is open to canoeing, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding (BYOH), mountain biking, dog walking, cross country skiing, orienteering, fishing, picnicing. JUST NO SWIMMING! And carry out what you carry in. The State of CT budget no longer allows for trash barrels in some state parks. More information and a map of the park can be found here: (visit link)

In the winter, it might be possible to walk across the ice to get to the cache but please read this first: (visit link) for safety tips about ice. There is fishing here, they stock it with trout. And ice fishing as well. If there is snow on the ice, it isn't forming more ice, so think twice before walking on it.

The cache is a small bison tube. But it's not that easy! You'll have to look for it. And please, please, please be sure to rehide it exactly, I mean exactly! as you found it.
