The cache was placed in memory of K-9
Sari, one of the first police work dogs to serve Ross Township
starting in 1995. Sari was Dog-Man's partner and worked for 7 years
and 10 months doing patrol work and narcotics detection. He retired
from the police force in June 2003 and enjoyed the rest of his life
at home with his companions, Storm, a female German Shepherd Dog,
and two Maine Coon cats, Shelby and Toby. We all miss Sari, he was
a great dog and the best partner Dog-Man has ever
had.
Parking is available in front of the
store. The location is handicapped accessible.
This is a Traditional micro size cache
designed to blend in with the surroundings. The business people on
both sides know what and where it is, so don't feel foolish hunting
around.
The location was chosen to provide a
parking lot style micro for those who enjoy them. The store was a
favorite stop for a break while Sari was on duty. He would jump out
of the patrol car, walk into the store and go right to the bin of
smoked pig hearts. After picking out a choice heart, Sari would
take it into the store office and lay on the oriental carpet to eat
it. Needless to say, the store owner loved him and gave him
anything he wanted!
