The Garden of Castle while surroundings fortification to which owes its name, has always been linked to the concepts of contemplation and celebration. This space can be sublime views over Lisbon, the Tagus, the seminary of São Paulo, Casa da Cerca or the panoramic lift of Boca do Vento on the cliff of Almada, making this place an ideal spot to watch the tagano estuary. For a long time, the 2765 m2 of this garden were the scene of celebrations of the Popular Saints in Almada, which lacked no concerts and lively dances in the central bandstand, renovated in 1987. Although the room always has primacy by the natural beauty and magnitude of their views, the council found it necessary to redevelopment of the area, thus expanding the potential of this garden leaning on the escarpment. In the period July 1996 to December 1999, the Municipality of Almada as part of its integrated development project for the municipality, started a recovery program Old Almada History Center which, among many other interventions, came requalify Garden Castle, giving it a modern street furniture and giving it also a new sophistication in their lawns and flowerbeds. O jardim do castelo é também palco de concertos e festividades, como os Santos Populares em Almada.
