Small cache hidden in the woods near Nonconnah Creek in south Shelby County, Tennessee.
When we first happend upon this spot on a cloudy drizzly morning, the three of us were reminded of several lines from the famous song, "Pennies From Heaven:"
...The best things in life
Were absolutely free...
...But no one appreciated
A sky that was always blue...
...If you want the things you love
You must have showers.
So when you hear it thunder
Don't run under a tree.
There'll be pennies from heaven for you and me...
On the day when we encountered this picturesque area the redbud trees were blooming. Wildflowers had begun emerging from their winter naps and many other plants were showing the first blooms of Spring. Recent rain had left the entire area shimmering in water droplets which looked like miniature rainbows as the sun shone on them. The nearby creek gurgled pleasantly as its waters rolled past.
This place may prove to be a little bit of trouble to reach. For us the natural beauty made it worth the trouble.
The cache is a plastic, camo'd container that is slightly smaller than a decon container. The cache does not contain any trade items. PLEASE PUT EVERYTHING BACK EXACTLY AS YOU FOUND IT so that the next cacher can enjoy the find.
The coordinates were arrived at by averaging more than 400 times using a Garmin 60CSx GPS'r.
There are at least two good (not the same as "easy") approaches to this cache site and very possibly three. You may find approaches that we have not.
DO NOT approach this cache from Bill Morris Parkway.
As with any cache hidden in the woods, use prudent caution and good judgement as you hunt this cache. The person primarily responsible for your safety when caching is you!
