How Geocaching Works
The "End of the Trail" sculpture, located in Waupun, is Clarence Shaler's most recognized work, modeled from a design by James Earl Fraser.
But perhaps his finest creation can be found at Mackford Prairie Union Cemetery.
"Morning of Life" is a bronze-cast sculpture by Shaler, created in memory of his twin sister, Clara, who, "in the morning of her life", died at the age of 18.
It depicts a small girl, sitting on a stone, her eyes gazing heavenward.
It was donated to the cemetery by Mr. Shaler in 1936.
When you locate the sculpture, you will need to finish these coordinates:
N 43.40.AB0
W088.55.0YZ
Add the four digits of Clara's birth year ,times 4= AB
Clara's year of death minus 1808= YZ
The cache is not on nor near any markers. If a funeral is in progress, please return at a later time.
The final hide is adjacent to a large, open prairie, and is probably not a good cache for winter( unless you like digging).
