Geocache Description:

This cache is a short walk from the parking area, in a thin sliver of public land that goes out to a great view of the Dells Pond Mill. Just park at the coordinates given, and follow the trail, staying within the red posts, and you will be on public land

The trail will take you to the edge of the mill pond, where you will get a great view of the Dells Mill. The mill is a water-powered flour and feed mill that was built in 1864 and is the oldest Wisconsin mill still in operation. The Dells Mill is private property, and is currently run as a museum. The museum is open during summer months. Dells Mill, on Dells Mill Pond was built in 1864 to produce flour and feed. At one time, this mill was the foundation of the local farm economy. There is a museum in the old mill now, owned by Gustave Clark, who gives daily tours of the museum. Clark generally wears a Civil War uniform for the tours, since the mill dates back to Civil War times. The tour takes 60 - 90 minutes and costs $7. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
