A national geodetic survey and adjustment carried out in the
early 1970s in Australia has left a legacy of trig stations
consisting of a ground mark with a quadripod supporting a black
disc above the ground mark. Many of these trig points are now
disappearing from the countryside as their function has largely
been superseded by aerial photography and digital mapping using
lasers and GPS measurements.
Views of Clayton across the way and Lake Alexandrina and Goat
Island are great here. You also can see the Coorong and Murray
Mouth in the distance.
This cache is an unusual shape and is the size of a bison
tube.
Take your own pen or pencil as none are supplied.
The log will only take a one line entry. Don't use more than one
line please.
No need to go over the fence into the paddock on private
land.
No swaps.
Please put back exactly where you found it and make sure the
cache is securely attached. We wouldn't want him to fly off now in
the winds would we?
This trig point is also a Waymarking category.
