The Rocks tells a story .......
This earth cache lies in the natural parc 'Serra Gelade' located on the massif of the so-called Benidorm Cyncline. This is a limestone formation from the Cretaceous era and more than 100 million years old. Once this rock formation was here the seabed. The rocks are in fact more than 100 million year old fossil dunes. The massif itself has the shape of a V of which the North Eastern flank protrudes. This section has become the name Sierra Helada. The meaning of this name is ice or snow mountain. It got its name because seen from the sea the mountain by moonlight shines like an ice mountain. That's because the moonlight reflected from the limestone.
The coordinates lead you to a rock formation where you can admire very beautiful prints of fossil animals. They are in fact the evidence that these rocks were once a muddy seabed.

1: What is the name of this extinct fossil animals?
2: What kind of animals were these fossils?
3: In what specific environment did the live?
4: In what position did they live?
5: Rate and give the average length in cm of these fossil animals.
6: What is a fossil? Provide a brief description.

Las Rocas cuentan historias…
Este earth caché se encuentra en el parque natural de la “Serra Gelada”, localizado en el macizo conocido con el nombre de Macizo de Benidorm.
Esta formación rocosa se dio en la era del cretaceo, por lo que tiene más de 100 millones de años. Estas rocas contienen fósiles de más de 100 millones de años.
El macizo tiene forma de V en el cual el flanco norte-este es el más prominente.
Gracias a esta forma recibe el nombre de Sierra Helada, montaña helada o nevada, así como cuando la sierra es vista des de el mar, cuando la luna brilla parece una montaña helada. Este efecto se da porque la luna se refleja en las rocas calcáreas. Eso es porque la luz de la luna reflejada en la piedra caliza.
Las coordenadas te llevan a una formación rocosa, donde se pueden contemplar restos de fósiles y animales. Es la evidencia de que estas rocas estuvieron sumergidas en el fondo del mar.
Para poder loguear este caché, debes responder a las siguientes preguntas y enviarmelas por email:
1. ¿Cuál es el nombre de estos restos fósiles extinguidos?
2. ¿Qué tipo de oído tienen estos animales?
3. ¿En qué ambiente o lugar específico vivieron?
4. ¿En qué posición vivían?
5. Tasa y da una longitud y anchura media, en cm, de estos restos fósiles.
6. ¿Qué es un fósil? Haz una breve descripción.
