Ancient Island Traditional Cache

Apparently, someone has placed a geocache on this site on the island of Yeronisos, an ecologically and archaeologically sensitive site that is also actively being excavated.
The archaeologists are working frantically to understand and preserve this site, with the help of the Cypriot department of antiquities. They have seen an increase in strangers wandering through this week and have had problems with equipment disappearing, the first time in 22 years they have had this problem. I strongly urge you to adjust your clues and skip Yeronisos. You should know that it is the policy of the archaeologists onsite to remove all modern things, plastic, garbage, etc., daily, and soon there will be nothing to find there for geocache seekers. Thank you for your sensitivity to this problem.

Ancient Island (officially known as Kionas) is a lovely island located at Agios Georgos, near Paphos, Cyprus. Bring your swimsuit!
I hid this challenging cache here because it is so amazing to stand on top of this lovely little table shaped island with many surprises and beautiful views, as you will see once you climbed on top. You can easily swim to it, but don't forget your waterproofed GPS and a camera. At first sight access seems impossible, but there is ONE easy way: swim to the south side of the island (at least 20 minutes, very easy with mask and fins) - that is on the left side of the island, as seen from the shore. On the left side you will discover a man-made path that will take you up. Once on top, be amazed as you take in eveything you see. Then look for the cache on the west side of the island. It is located inside a rather large crater, about half way down. Trust your GPS. Be careful climbing, do mind the cliffs, and have lots of fun!
Original cache contents: An orange marker, a flashlight, shoelaces, 2 rolls of tape, a blue key cord, sticky notes.
P.S. You can also take a boat, of course.
