Geocache Description:

Ibapah Peak Hike .

Ibapah peak is Juab County (Utah) Highpoint, it is also the Range Highpoint of the Deep Creek Mountains.

This hike is about 15 miles round trip and has a vertical gain of 5,700 feet!!! The hike will take at least 11 hours round trip! So come prepared with plenty of water and a long day! The 4.5 terrain is no exaggeration

I have High hopes to hit the trail at 6am and return to the car by 6pm

My plan is to drive out through Wendover Friday afternoon and camp in Granite Creek
Saturday morning we will hit the trail early in the morning around 6 or 6:30am. If all goes well we should be back to the car around 6pm.

The coordinates listed are high in Granite Creek near the start of the hike.

I am not sure the exact location where we will be camping yet. Simply drive up the canyon towards the coordinates and watch for us. There are not many people that visit the area so we shoudl be easy to find.

After the hike I will spend the evening driving back on the old Pony Express route. This will consist of 100 miles of gravel roads and about 30 more miles of pavement before you hit the gas station in Cedar Fort or Tooele. From the last gas station in Wendover Friday, to the gas station in Cedar Fort Saturday will be about 225 miles, so plan accordingly, and bring extra gas if need be. There is a small trading post in Ibapah that usually has gas, and you could also bail out early and head home through Delta if you would like. Also you are welcome to just head home after the hike and head back home through Wendover. The purpose of this event is the summit Ibapah peak in one of the most remote and historic areas of the state.

For more info about the hike visit the following site or simply google Ibapah peak hike.
