This cache is located on the Robinson Point National Recreation Trail on the banks of the beautiful Lake Norfork! We love this hike because of the scenic views. Your
camera should be required equipment, for you will likely want to
capture scenes of wildflowers, fall foliage, and breathtaking views of
the Ozark Mountains and Lake Norfork. The end of the trail is a short
loop atop Robinson Point, a high bluff overlooking one of the largest
sections of Lake Norfork. The trail begins at the sign near the
entrance gate of Robinson Point Park. The Park itself is a fee area, but the trailhead is right before the park's gate so no fee should be required.
When you take this trail, be sure to stay on the BLUE trail (look for the blazes on the trees). Parking is located at the coordinates in the green box below. .18 miles from the trailhead is a fork in the trail; be sure to go RIGHT. The distance from the trailhead to the cache is 1.6 miles. Be aware that the trail is maintained, but is rocky and steep in some places. Additionally, it can be a little slick in places if it has recently rained. Don't let that stop you from hiking this beautiful trail, however.
The cache is in a regular-sized ammo can and includes a pencil (but bring your own, just in case), a logbook, a map with stick-on stars, and a camera. Please place a star on the map over your hometown and be sure to take a picture of yourself or group. We'll develop the pictures and post online! The cache is located near the overlook at the end of trail.
This is our first hide, so please feel free to let us know what you think. We purposely tried to make this a somewhat challenging cache and we hope you enjoy it--we sure had fun hiding it! If you have any problems, please email us! Good luck and happy hunting!
