This cache is a decon container in a bush.
We decided to spend a nice afternoon, driving up Angeles Crest, taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. Near where the State Route 2 is closed, we stopped to take some pictures of Catalina Island, and explored a small Nature Trail.

The cache is about 400 feet down a fairly easy trail. Look for a large oak tree just off the trail, that is in back of a tall dead tree (white). The bush is under the edge of the oak tree.

Be careful of ice on the trail, it can be very slippery in the winter. There was just one patch of ice when the cache was hidden, and it was very slick.

There is also an out-house in the parking lot, if you are in need of facilities.

Parking coordinates are 34 21.346 117 51.616.

Found it with Jedikeet.

Thank you very, VERY much. This cache lifted my spirits. Keet and I saw that A.C.H. was open again after the whole Station Fire thing. We both had spent a lot of time in these hills, and so it was very depressing to see all of the decimation from the fire. Keet and I are both knowledgeable about nature, so we both know that we will never see that area back to how it was. Well, I might, but that's just because I am immortal. ;) The hike on this nature loop is very beautiful. For me it reminded me that "nature" does not stop, and that some day the Station area will be back again...

I've been coming up to these hills for 40 years and I don't ever remember stopping here. But then again I don't remember a lot of things. Why did I stop here? Nice area, the hill sides are really steep. SL. TFTC.

We're working on the LA County Quad Challenge (visit link) , so we set out on a mission to find caches in 49 quads in the northern and eastern part of the county. This was find #84 of 97 over the weekend. We were VERY happy to head into the mountains for a few quads after spending most of the last 24 hours finding caches in 25 quads in the desert! A welcome change of scenery. This one was a pleasant little mountain walk. TFTC!
