La Belle Marie Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

The Flying Boots: No wonder no one can find this. A huge tree has come down on top of the cache site and lots of nettles and brambles have grown up around it. Unless someone clears the tree it's impossible to get at the cache. Sadly will have to archive [:(]

Geocache Description:

Approximately 1.5 miles of level riverside walking. Can be muddy in winter and after very high tides. Dog, bike and horse friendly.

This Geocache site is named after the last working Steam Boat that was moored at Brockweir.

There is plenty of parking in the village of Brockweir either in the lay-by or roadside and verge parking just a little out of the village up the hill. Brockweir has a convenient pub, is on the number 69 bus route from Chepstow and a shop and café about half a mile up the hill out of the village open 7 days a week.
Alternative parking is at Bigsweir Bridge 3 miles up river beyond Llandogo but there are no immediate facilities there. It is equal distance to walk from either parking area.

Due to tree coverage over the immediate area of the cache the co-ordinates have been taken from the path between the gate and “walkers and horses sign”. The cache is situated approximately 24 feet to the side of the path farthest from the river. It is a clip lock box containing the usual swappable items.

Congratulations to valliantknight who was the first to find this Geocache.
