This is the 5th in a series of caches highlighting parks in Spearfish, SD. For a little exercise, follow Spearfish's walking/bike path to locate the caches or drive to each location (close parking to each cache). The caches in this series are all located in very public places so patience and discretion are necessary.This cache is located in Ida Henton Park on the Black Hills State University campus. Ida Henton was a former BHSU student and instructor. The park was dedicated in June of 1969. The Grotto is the original entrance of the Dakota Normal Building (1887), which burned down in 1925. Subsequent classes contributed money to re-erect the elaborate entrance and create an outdoor amphitheater from the original stone and bricks.
