All in All....

Disclaimer: My wife really isn't this mean, she's a great cook and yet, she currently knows nothing of GPSr's and geocaching.

NathanB and denjoa are both great people whom are very nice and were used for that fact. Their permission was obtained to use their handles in the story. Enjoy.

One Saturday afternoon after working outside I came in to take a break and check my e-mail to see if any caches had been published. Sure enough, one had and it was only a few kms away. Oh boy, oh boy, One of My Turns for a FTF, I thought to myself. I quickly downloaded the info to the GPSr and headed for the door. My hand was on the door handle when,
"Hey You! Stop! Where are you going?", I heard my wife say from behind me.
"Out to grab a cache. It just got published and I need to go get it", I answered.
"Oh really?" was the answer.
Uh oh, this isn't going to go well, I thought to my self. I was up against The Wall and this arguement had just started!
"What about dinner?", was the question from the Mommy Unit.
"Uh...well..", I stammered. I took a quick peek at what was on the stove. Spaghetti and some Pink goop. I'd seen this before and it wasn't pretty. Even the mutt, Floyd wouldn't eat it. Ewwww...how am I going to get out of this one? I thought to myself.
"But Sweetie, if I don't Run Like Hell to get this FTF someone else will. Someone like NathanB or even worse, denjoa and they don't even care about FTF's", I argued weakly, "I only need minutes to find it."
"I don't care if the Queen of England is going for that cache, you are going to stay here and have dinner with your family", she stated.
I then knew if I pushed it further, I'd be on The Thin Ice with my head, through The Wall!
At that point my mind wandered. The Queen of England...caching?...Hmmmm, I wonder how that would go...

(day dream sequesnce)
"Oh look Charles a cache!"
"Why yes Mother, you're right, it is a cache"
"Charles, did we get the FTF?"
"No Mummy, we didn't. Someone named NathanB did, what shall we do"
"Well Charles, you can't have any pudding if you don't get the FTF," she exclaimed.....
(end day dream sequence)

At that point a big wad of spaghetti noodles hitting The Wall beside my head, brought me back to reality.
"NOONLES!", The Littlest Hooligan exclaimed as the noodles peeled off the wall and landed on the floor.
"Daddy, NOONLES!", he pointed and yelled excitedly.
Well crap. Looks like I'm stuck eating dinner. I looked down at my faithful Floyd and asked him "Gonna help me out tonight?".
He looked back at me with his big brown eyes for a moment, then turned and walk down the hallway to the bedroom and flumped down on his bed with a sigh.
"Man's best friend my ...", I stopped. There were Hooligans around after all.
"NOONLES!", the Littlest Hooligan squealed again as we sat down to eat. Yes, he enjoys his 'noonles'.
So I sat down and begrudgingly ate my noonles and Pink goop, without any help from Floyd. After everyone was done, I helped clean up (including the noonles that were thrown at me) and then asked if I could please go and try and get that cache.
"Sure", my wife answered "but first let me see where you are going".
Fair enough, I thought. So I showed her the coords and off handedly mentioned where I was heading.

"Are you new!?" she asked angrily.
"Huh?...What do you mean", I stammered back. I stood there for a minute as I thought about what she had just said.
"Nobody Home huh? Well, look here dum dum. The stated coords have you going here", as she pointed to the spot on the map "but if you'd take a couple of minutes and look a bit closer, you'd see that you obviously need to go here", as she pointed to a completely different spot on the map. "The coords for where you need to go are here,

Well crap. She was right. I needed to go somewhere completely different. Now there was no hope of getting the FTF on this cache. My mind was one of those Empty Spaces, as usual.
"Thanks, sweetie!" I said as I high tailed it out the door with the mutt and Hooligans in tow.
"Make sure you Bring The Boys Back Home before the street lights come on", the Mommy Unit yelled as we were hopping in the car.
"I will", I yelled back as we peeled out of the driveway.
Good luck, Don't Leave Now, I thought to myself as I drove toward the GZ.
We arrived at the GZ with a squeal of tires and jumped out of the car, ran for the cache, pulled it out of its hiding spot, opened it up to find.....NathanB's name on the FTF line AND denjoa's right underneath it.
"WELL SUGAR!", I exclaimed. "
"SUSHAR!", squealed the Littlest Hooligan. He knows what he likes and he likes 'sushar'.
"What's wrong Daddy?", Hooligan #1 asked.
"Oh nothing", I lied, "NathanB beat me to the FTF on this treasure. I knew it! I just knew it. I suffered through Pink goop for a TFT?", I asked looking at Floyd.
"Ooo, he's a dirty dog!", Hooligan #1 stated about NathanB.
"Nink, sushar, noonles" the Littlest Hooligan repeated quietly at the mention of the Pink goop.
"Floyd...lets go home", I muttered.
With that, I signed the log(on the third line), put the cache back together, placed it back in its hiding spot and sulked back to the car, ending my day, not the way I had hoped. I piled everyone into the car and headed home to pout and drink till I'm Comfortable Numb.
