Scramble up a seastack.
Neskowin is a quiet little beachside community just north of Cascade Head. Proposal Rock is located on Neskowin beach, and generations of lovers have taken the short, but challenging climb to become betrothed on this rocky island. Come at low tide, and be prepared to wade through the knee-high chilly waters of Hawk Creek at the base of the rock. If you come at high tide your wade will be wider and deeper. If the conditions are moist, this may be a real challenge.
On a clear day you will see to the north Haystack rock with Cape Lookout jutting in a western spike beyond it. To the south,waves crash against the massive cliffs of Cascade head. On a lucky day, you will see gangs of sea lions dancing in the surf below you.
Because of the extremeley steep and possibly slippery climb and precipitous cliffs nearby, this cache is not appropriate for small children. The cache is a 1/2 gallon plastic container wrapped in a black plastic garbage bag located on the south end of the rock. The cache has already been stolen twice so PLEASE REHIDE IT WELL!
